I was recently awarded a Visual Arts Fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, click image for more information and a list of other grant recipients.
From ASCA: Fellowships are awarded to individuals working in arts education, craft, dance, design, media/photography, music, literature, theatre, and visual arts. These grants recognize artistic excellence as well as professional commitment and maturity, contributing to the further development of the artist. Fellows use funding to support the growth and development of their artistic careers through time creating, practicing, and improving their skill, pursuit of professional development and training, or other opportunities that lead to success for these Alabama artists.
“Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre is a 2023 Queens Arts Fund grant recipient! We are proud to represent the borough of Queens, and to bring An Evening of New Classics to Long Island City this October.
The Queens Arts Fund offers project grants to Queens-based artists, artist collectives, and small non-profit organizations of all artistic disciplines to support the local production of artwork and cultural programs that highlight, engage, and bolster the borough of Queens. It is administered by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).
@sheepmeadowdancetheatre received a New Work Grant, which is a $3,000 grant that is offered to Queens-based individual artists, unincorporated artist collectives, or collaborations between multiple artists of all disciplines to support the creation of new work. “New Work” is defined as work that has not been produced or presented to an audience before.
This evening is a collaboration between our partners, Lauren Woods and 10K Productions and will be performed live at Culture Lab LIC.”
April 20, 2023 | Opening Reception @ 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The Elastic Mind is an art exhibition concepted and curated by Kohl King, showcasing a variety of digital and video artworks from selected artists from around the globe. The exhibition creatively addresses and/ or relates to the theme of the Elastic Mind, which is a psychological term that refers to the ability to think non-linearly and be fluid to survive in times of rapid change and uncertainty.
Over 300 artists and creatives answered the open call for the exhibition with a combination of over 1000 entries. From this, 67 artists & artist groups, with a total of 104 digital art and videos were selected for view. Click image for more information.

This year, I had two artworks included in the SECAC 2022 Members’ National Juried Exhibition, which took place during the SECAC Conference in Baltimore. Hosted by Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), this year’s exhibition juror was Jeffery Kent, a multidisciplinary artist and the Artistic Director of the Peale Center in Baltimore, the oldest museum building in the United States. The Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF) is an annual international festival dedicated to exploring the relationship between art, science, and technology. Showcasing contemporary digital art forms from a diverse global community of artists and scientists, ADAF has been representing Greece internationally in digital arts since 2005 and is the first institution of its kind to be established in the region.
Body Tides, a collaborative dance film with Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre will be screened during ESTIA Day Fest, held at Salvatore LaRussa Dance Theatre in Queens, NY. I will have two paintings on view in Focus on Figures 2022, a national juried exhibition of figurative art at North River Arts Society in Marshfield Hills, Massachusetts. The juror, Dan Thompson, an internationally known figurative artist and educator, is currently the Dean of Fine Arts at Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realist Art in Philadelphia, PA.
In conjunction with my exhibition Natural Rites at Doane University’s Rall Gallery, I was invited to teach a figure drawing workshop to art students focusing on gesture and proportion on February 10, 2022. Thanks to all the students that participated!

On December 4, 2021, Body Tides will be shown in Six Degrees of Separation: A Retrospective Film Festival that features dance films from past contributors to their annual live showcase. In its eighth year, the festival will feature the work of Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre, Angie Conte, Julie Carter, Inclined Dance Project, One Day Dance, and Six Degrees Dance. Dream Stateis this month’s solo feature on the In Art Gallery’s website. The In Art Gallery is an online gallery and resource for artists to have a platform for exhibiting artwork and reaching a global audience by providing opportunities for artists to submit work in various mediums in an international juried competition.
I will be a part of a three-person exhibition at Ground Floor Contemporary during the month of October titled Hierophanic Territories along with artists Liza Butts and Tracie Noles-Ross. I will be showing work created during my time spent at Athena Standards Residency during July 2021.
